After doing several squatted cafes, the Anarchist Teapot collective decided we actually enjoy cooking for lots of people...Agitation and action need a certain infrastructure to work well, and one important aspect of this is food. Everyone needs food. When you bring large numbers of people together, inevitably they will become hungry, and if food hasn't been sorted out they'll go to the nearest chippy/supermarket/starve. We set up to cater for this need - providing affordable, nutritious food for those working towards readical social change. We have equipped ourselves to be able to cook for up to 400 people, altough we'll also cook for smaller events. Basically, the further away from us an event is held, the larger it should be to make evonomic and ecological sense for us to cook at it - we'll happily cook for 30 people in Brighton, but not in Bradford, whereas we'll cook for 150 people pretty much anywhere!

We have cooked at events ranging from the Earth First! Summer Gathering to our local Unemployed Centre's Christmas party for kids.

Unlike commercial caterers, we are not some kind of vending machine you put money into to get a plate of food - in the spirit of mutual aid we like to be involved with what's happening and want people to get involved with what we're doing. In practical terms this also means we ask for volunteers to help us with chopping vegetables and washing up.

If you're planning an action, conference or some other type of event, feel free to contact us. Our food is always vegan and free of genetically modified ingredients. We use mostly organic ingredients, but because we want to be charging only 2.50-3.00 a day for three meals and tea/coffee, or just asking for donations, we cannot be 100% organic. However, if you reckon people coming to your event can pay more for totally organic food, obviously that's fine for us too. Similarly, if your organisation has very healthy funding we may ask for a little more than cost price to help us subsidise prices at other events, or absorb the losses we sometimes make. The money we receive is u
